ANC has 'stepped into the shoes of the oppressor' – Mpofu

At a pre-election public debate hosted by the University of South Africa (Unisa), Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) national chairperson Dali Mpofu gave an introduction ahead of the debate which the party’s Twitter account – perhaps somewhat optimistically – referred to as an indication of “what the EFF will do when it takes over government in May”.

Mpofu began by saying that South Africa’s “problem is that we refuse to diagnose the problem”. “The problems started 367 years ago, when the land of the black African majority was taken through violence,” he continued.

“The reason why the colonialists took our land is because they understood that to build an economy, you need to have ownership of the land.
