DA in its biggest crisis since inception – analyst

The Democratic Alliance entered the elections in May this year with the aim of increasing the party’s support to 30%.

They had their first black leader, Mmusi Maimane, a dynamic speaker who proved to be effective in Parliament in the corrupt Zuma era but was battling against the erudite new president of the ANC, Cyril Ramaphosa. When they only managed to attract 20% of the vote, the DA found itself in crisis mode on how they should proceed.

They are now looking right to the Freedom Front Plus who stole some of their votes and to the left to ascertain how they can take votes from the ANC, and it is leading to an internal battle that is threatening to tear the party apart.
