Dali Mpofu tried to poke holes in President Ramaphosa's denial that he sold out his comrades during the struggle.
However, Mpofu's argument did not really have the desired effect - it was met with disdain. The Economic Freedom Fighter's Dali Mpofu attempted to make President Ramaphosa out as a liar after he defended himself against the allegations from COPE's Mosiuoa Lekota that he was a traitor to his comrades during the struggle.
Ramaphosa explained that he was tormented by police but refused to testify against his brothers. He says that it was his neighbour who testified against Lekota.
Ramaphosa confirmed that both he and Lekota were arrested in 1974 but refuted the rest of Lekota’s version of events. The Citizen reported that he was then arrested and placed under solitary confinement for 6 months.
The police demanded evidence from Ramaphosa against all the others arrested, including Lekota, but he refused.
