The Economic Freedom Fighters are set to pull off their signature move this evening: disrupting the State of Nation Address. This time they intend to take on Cyril Ramaphosa over his R500 000 'donation' from the disgraced BOSASA.
The stage has been set for the Economic Freedom Fighters ( free of charge) to take on President Cyril Ramaphosa tonight at the State of the Nation Address.Although National Assembly speaker, Baleka Mbete, has denied any 'extraordinary measures' being put into place, the intentions of the EFF have been made extremely clear.Briefly.co.za reported that Dali Mpofu, spokesman for the party, was adamant that any disruption at the event should be blamed on Ramaphosa, not the EFF, as he would have ignored their demands:“Ramaphosa will be the one disrupting the Sona because we cannot sit when we have a president who has lied. We cannot be addressed by someone on serious matters of the state when he has committed an impeachable offence.
So, if Ramaphosa continues without addressing the Bosasa matter, he will be the one disrupting the Sona,”READ ALSO: Mpofu -The EFF won't disrupt SONA, but President Ramaphosa willKhusela Diko, Presidency spokesperson, has commented on the threats as being 'very unfortunate' and deemed it politically opportunistic for parties to use the event to push their own agendas.
