Hands off our CIC: Footage shows overwhelming EFF support outside court

Thousands of EFF supporters gathered outside the Newcastle Magistrate's Court in support of Julius Malema.Malema was appearing at the court over comments he made in 2016, allegedly inciting people to unlawfully seize land.

The case has been postponed to July. The case has been postponed, as Malema's lawyers have challenged the consitutionality of the charges. After his court appearance, Malema addressed the crowds gathered outside.

He made several controversial remarks -including saying that black people would only be free when white people worked for them as domestic workers - and also reiterated his commitment to land reform. "We must fight for ourselves," Malema told the crowd. "No one is going to fight for us.

"He also claimed that the EFF was fighting for the respect of black people. The EFF leader also called for the liberation of the mind's of black people and for EFF supporters to seize "the means of production". He also called for an end to what he referred to as "white-hero worship".
