Hanekom admits to meeting with EFF to plot Jacob Zuma's downfall

Hanekom had been removed from the executive by the former president and had not kept his opposition to Zuma's reign a secret. Julius Malema, leader of the EFF, revealed that the party had worked with Solly Mapailia (SA Communist Party) and Hanekom to remove the former president:“Hanekom gave us the list of the ANC MPs who were going to vote with us in the vote of no confidence against Jacob Zuma.

Hanekom was preparing for formation of a new party if [Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma] won.
