Manneh To Hold Football Tournament Against Xenophobic Attacks In Kenya

In the wake of xenophobic attacks across South Africa, a group of pan African Kenyans is scheduled to a friendly football match against West Africans living in Kenya in solidarity with Africans facing xenophobic attacks in South Africa.

The match will be played at Umeme Grounds-Ziwani from 9am the 6th of September-Saturday According to Thomas Manneh, a Liberian professional footballer xenophobia has no place in Africa and should be shunned. “We’re all Africans with the same blood, xenophobia should be condemned in the strongest terms possible and that is why we’re organizing this football as a way to picket. Kenyan High Commissioner to South Africa Jean Kamau on Tuesday confirmed that there are a number of Kenyans who have been affected in the attacks.

The attacks that started as hate between South Africans and Nigerians quickly spread to other foreigners in the Nation.
