JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA JULY 25: Democratic Alliance (DA) leader Mmusi Maimane during an interview on July 25, 2017 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The entire country is fixated on the incident that took place at Clifton Beach, in Cape Town. Everyone has weighed in on the issue, some finding sense in what the private security company did, and others appalled that something of that nature would happen in a democratic South Africa.
Interestingly, DA leader, Mmusi Maimane was brought into the conversation by Cassper Nyovest, a musician from Johannesburg. Neither Maimane nor the DA had released an official statement addressing the incident.
Nonetheless, Cassper took to Twitter to ask Maimane of what he thought about the incident, and the DA leader’s response was met with backlash from people who claim to be sick and tired of observing the blatant racism that is inherent in the Western Cape.Read – Clifton Beach: Protesters prepare to ‘reclaim’ the beaches from racistsClifton Beach: Mmusi Maimane faces Twitter backlashSwima Morena.
