Do you believe in BEE? How do you think the government should address land reform? Do you think the NHI is financially viable? And how do we solve the unemployment crisis? These are some of the issues the country's political parties have identified in their election manifestos ahead of the upcoming national and provincial elections likely to be held on May 8.
The DA launched its election manifesto at the weekend, following the ANC, which launched its manifesto in January and the EFF, who had their launch early in February. DA leader Mmusi Maimane rejected the ANC's proposed National Health Insurance (NHI), its implementation of Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) as well as the proposed changes to the Constitution to allow for land expropriation without compensation.
The EFF, in turn, re-emphasised its demand for land expropriation without compensation and promised that it would amend the minimum wage to increase wages in all sectors.
