The bill, which was passed by the National Assemby in November 2018, received unanimous support from all parties at the NCOP with the exception of the EFF. The bill is now just waiting for President Ramaphosa to sign it into law.

The bill strictly limits the amount of money parties can spend on campaigning to a set amount allocated by the state.
