Opposition parties expressed concern at the government's slow pace in dealing decisively with gender-based violence.

They aired their views in parliament on Wednesday, when President Cyril Ramaphosa detailed his plan of action to tackle the issue. DA: 'It's not good enough' Describing gender-based violence as a “dark stain”, DA leader Mmusi Maimane called on the government to do more to ensure that perpetrators of crimes against women and children were convicted.
