'R32-m budget not meant to evict black people' – Tshwane mayor

Tshwane mayor Stevens Mokgalapa has denied claims that the metro was looking to evict landless black people.

In his maiden budget speech for the capital, Mokgalapa had said that R32 million would be put aside to deal with illegal land invasions in the city, sparking the accusation from the EFF caucus. Tshwane EFF leader MoAfrika Mabogwana said the party was “not surprised at the cosy relationship that has emerged in Tshwane between the DA and the ANC”.

“Ever since they came together, the DA and ANC voted for a budget that increased fees at early childhood centers and allocated R32 million for eviction of landless black people.
