Her death was among the many that prompted the Total Shutdown movement, a stand against the violence facing the nation's women and children. Ramaphosa had been forced to abandon his appearance at the World Economic Forum in order to address the protesters outside of the venue, saying that Parliament will be tasked with ensuring a plan to aid in protecting female citizens.
