Report on Bosasa donation to President will be ready after elections

Public protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane has told DA leader Mmusi Maimane that her report investigation on the R500 000 Bosasa donation to the president will only be ready after elections.

On Tuesday, 9 April 2019, Democratic Alliance (DA) leader Mmusi Maimane sat in a meeting with Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane for a report back on a request he, alongside Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema, had asked of the public protector. The two opposition leaders asked her to investigate whether President Ramaphosa had lied and misled Parliament when he responded to questions about the R500 000 donation from Bosasa.

At his recent testimonial, the president’s son, Andile Ramaphosa, revealed that he had received R2 million from Bosasa (now African Global Operations) through his company Blue Crane Capital.
