- Julius Malema has denied reports that he paid AfriForum R100 000 to cover its legal costs- The cost orders resulted from a case brought by AfriForum against the EFF- The payment was allegedly the second of five payments totaling R550 000The EFF's Julius Malema has rejected AfriForum's claim that he paid them R100 000 last week toward their legal costs.

The costs came from a case that AfriForum had brought against the EFF, where the lobby group obtained an interdict against the party to stop them from inciting unlawful land grabs, Briefly.co.za learned. A judge granted the costs against Malema and the EFF after several instances where the EFF failed to submit heads of argument on time, and another incident where the EFF's representatives allegedly failed to appear at court.

Further costs were also leveled at Malema and the EFF after the party allegedly violated a preexisting interdict by continuing to encourage unlawful occupation of land.
