Dr Sathasivian “Saths” Cooper has defended Malema’s sentiments on the Indian community in South Africa, saying his comment has a basis of fact to it.
Leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Julius Malema came under fire for his comments on the Indian community while campaigning for the upcoming 8 May elections in Chatsworth, Durban, on Sunday, 24 March 2019. Malema, ever so bold in his unconventional sentiments, said that the Indian community needed to wake up and realise that they are as black as the rest of the black people in South Africa.
He also called for unity amongst black people.“There will be no unity between blacks and Indians until they rework their mentality that they are closer to whiteness.
They are not closer to whiteness. They are black, and we are all victims of apartheid,” he said.
