Huis Davidtsz home has decided to temporarily relocate their residents to other institutions. Home chairperson Cas Weber said: “Family members have been contacted and are now fully aware of the process.
” He said the home will be in charge of relocating the residents. Weber said the move was due to internal conflict between staff and management, and the involvement and interference by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF). “Huis Davidtsz Board has since 2018 struggled to maintain full control of the management of the home.” Weber said staff grievances were widely influenced by members of the EFF. He alleged that the EFF had also forced management out of office.
“Since then, management tried at length to resolve issues that were raised by the staff,” he said. “The influence of the EFF has been so far-reaching that they took charge of the main entry gate at the facility.” One of the reasons that influenced the decisions to move, was because staff members, who still reported for duty, were also prevented access to the premises, said Weber.
