Parliament's Justice and Correctional Services Committee has conducted interviews for the position of deputy public protector to replace incumbent Kevin Malunga whose term ends in December.
Of the 29 applications received, three candidates withdrew, while six didn't meet the criteria. Subsequent to the nomination process, the committee was left with eight candidates.
With the withdrawal of Advocate Sonwabile Mangcotywa, there are now seven candidates to interview.
